Thames Reach is seeking volunteers for its Tenancy Sustainment Team (TST).

The TST covers 16 London boroughs from its base in Lambeth, helping former rough sleepers settle into and retain accommodation.

Former rough sleepers are all housed in flats made available by the government, with support coming from a large, dedicated team of staff and volunteers.

In addition to maintaining accommodation, the service helps people move on into further accommodation, such as in the private rented sector, when the support provided by TST is no longer necessary.


TST helps service users find employment, develop skills, access health services, and address any support needs related to drug and alcohol misuse and poor physical and mental health.

The purpose of the Tenancy Sustainment Team (TST) volunteer is to assist

 

  • Thames Reach achieving the highest standards and effectiveness in service delivery to service users;
  • Contribute to the implementation of the team’s aims and objectives, work plans, operational policies and procedures in such a way that they contribute to the mission of Thames Reach and deliver on business plan objectives.
  • Support the co-ordination of all activities within the team effectively and maintain Thames Reach standards in relation to service users/internal customers and other stakeholders alike.


There are a number of roles for volunteers within the Tenancy Sustainment Team:

 

  • TST Admin & Finance Volunteer: to assist with data inputting of admin and finance related tasks.

 

  • TST Private Rented Sector Volunteer:to assist the PRS Worker to identify PRS properties and to support service users to move in to PRS properties.

 

  • TST Peer Mentor/Befriender:You’ll be assigned a small caseload of service users to mentor / befriend, to work in partnership with the service user’s Key Worker, to accompany service users to appointments e.g. resettlement, medical or DWP appointment; and to make telephone welfare checks to service users etc.

 

  • TST/ETE volunteer: to support service users to access employment and training opportunities within and external to Thames Reach.
