Vital Regeneration helps people with start-up businesses

Award-winning charity Vital Regeneration has become a subsidiary of Thames Reach.

The organisation helps people placed in temporary accommodation by the City of Westminster to find work and access training.

Its Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI) programme sees employment advisers working with Westminster council's housing department and welfare reform team to offer a wide range of one-to-one support.

It also runs the Vital Business Centre, which provides cheap hot desking facilities for start-up businesses, and also helps with childcare costs, as many of the people using the service are parents.

Thames Reach Chief Executive Jeremy Swain said: “Vital Regeneration’s employment sustainment figures are some of the best in the country and, having heard directly from some of the people who are being supported, I have no doubt that the organisation is transforming lives for the better.

“This move will enable us to make a bigger impact on the lives of even more women and men, as we seek to reduce homelessness in Westminster and elsewhere,” he added.
