Aerospace insurance company Global Aerospace recently raised
almost £700 for Thames Reach at a charity bake off.
The City of London branch of the firm held the event on
Monday 13 March. There were 19 entries, with judging conducted by the pastry
chef from the nearby Four Seasons Hotel.
“An amazing £300 was raised from the bake off. Along with
matched funding and money raised from a dress down day, a magnificent total of
£696 was donated to support our work,” said Milton Bevan, Thames Reach’s
Harriet McArthur and Julie Kitto, who maintain Global
Aerospace’s corporate social responsibility programme, visited Thames Reach’s Employment
Academy resource centre in Camberwell to present the cheque and see the charity’s
employment services in action.
“A thank you to Harriet, Julie, and all the London staff at
Global Aerospace for all their hard work and fundraising efforts,” added
Milton. “This is a most generous donation, and will have a real impact on those
using the employment services at the Employment Academy.
