A busy branch of Waitrose at Highbury Corner has raised £178 in support of Thames Reach.

The money was raised as part of the shop’s Community Matters scheme, where customers are able to choose one of three nominated local charities to support each month.

Maria Maloy, Waitrose staff member and Community Matters representative, said: “The staff and customers of Waitrose Highbury Corner are pleased to be able to support the work of Thames Reach in ending street homelessness.”

Milton Bevan, Thames Reach’s fundraising manager, said: “We have been very fortunate to have the support of the Highbury Corner branch of Waitrose, who have selected Thames Reach as a local charity on a number of occasions now.

"Thank you to Maria and Naseer, who took the time to interrupt their very busy morning to pose for a picture and to hand over their Community Matters cheque. A sincere thank you to all the staff and customers for their considered support of our work," he added.
