Moving In Moving On (MIMO) is Thames Reach’s painting and decorating course for long-term unemployed, homeless and vulnerable men and women.
MIMO trainees are often involved in helping to renovate community resources and buildings.
Aims of the course
MIMO provides the opportunity for people to gain new skills and put them to practical use. The main, six week MIMO course can help people to develop their self-confidence, build friendships and learn about working as a team.
The course is suitable for all levels of experience and is free of charge for all participants.
The MIMO course is made up of two weeks training at The Employment Academy followed by four weeks practical work on a real job.
The course teaches people the basics of painting and decorating, prepares participants for further accredited training and is a first step towards finding work.
