Sustaining Tenancies Accommodation & Resettlement (STAR) is a four-year project being delivered by Thames Reach to prevent homelessness, in partnership with Shelter, St Mungo's, and Stonewall Housing.

Thames Reach deliver face-to-face support to people with complex needs, including those in rough sleeping hotspots, and to those at risk of losing their tenancy due to anti-social behaviour, poor mental health, or drug and alcohol issues.

Referrals are taken from local authorities, registered housing providers, and from people living in the private rented sector, in order to prevent people from losing their tenancy and ending up on streets, and to support those on the streets back into accommodation.

Through STAR, service users are able to access training and employment, and improve their physical and mental health. Specialist support is provided by mental health practitioners from Enabling Assessment Service London (EASL).

In addition to the support provided by Thames Reach, STAR also involves Shelter, who are delivering housing and support over the phone and in hubs across London to prevent eviction; St Mungo's, who are helping people to access housing in the private rented sector; and Stonewall Housing, who are providing specialist advice and accommodation for LGBTQ+ people affected by homelessness.

STAR is funded by London Councils.
