We are proud to be highly commended at the 2024 LHA for our PLACE and CHA projects

London Homelessness Awards

Thames Reach is proud to be highly commended at the 2024 London Homelessness Awards for our Pan London Accommodation & Community Engagement (PLACE) and Connect Home Aspire (CHA) projects, which are making a significant impact in providing sustainable housing solutions for those experiencing homelessness in London.

Now in its 25th year, the London Homelessness Awards celebrate the outstanding efforts of projects that are helping to prevent and reduce homelessness across the capital. The awards recognise initiatives that demonstrate exceptional impact and dedication, with a £60,000 prize fund.

Fiona Sutherland, Area Director at Thames Reach, expressed her gratitude for the recognition:
We are thrilled to have been highly commended at the 2024 London Homelessness Awards. The success of our PLACE and CHA projects is the result of an incredible partnership between Thames Reach, Cromwood Housing Group, and all our other collaborators. Together, we have secured 526 affordable tenancies and provided 724 individuals with long-term homes and the support they need to rebuild their lives. This recognition highlights the power of collaboration in making a tangible difference in the lives of those we support.”

Cromwood Housing Group, a key partner in both PLACE and CHA, played a vital role in the success of these projects. Mark Wajnsztok, Lettings and Tenancy Manager at Cromwood, emphasised the importance of the partnership:
“We’re incredibly proud to be working alongside Thames Reach in the PLACE and CHA projects. This commendation is a testament to the collective effort of all the teams involved in providing quality, affordable homes for those who need them most. We remain committed to working together to create lasting change.”

PLACE and CHA are innovative solutions that address the urgent need for long-term housing. These projects have already helped hundreds of people secure permanent homes, fostering stability and independence.

We also want to extend our congratulations to Housing Justice’s project The Night Shelter Lettings Network, which was awarded first prize at this year’s awards. Well-deserved congratulations for Lambeth Council’s Routes to Independence Pathway project and Treasures Foundation’s Revealing the Hidden Treasure in Each Woman, which received second prizes. Finally, we would like to congratulate the other highly commended projects: The Passage: No Night Out service and Turning Point: RBKC Rough Sleepers Drug and Alcohol Service.

Thames Reach remains committed to leading the way in housing-led solutions and continuing to work closely with our partners to expand our impact across London. This recognition motivates us to continue driving change and offering innovative solutions to those experiencing homelessness.
