Thames Reach Charity board vacancies
We are looking for three individuals to join the Board of Trustees at Thames Reach Charity. Those applying must have a commitment to ending rough sleeping, and have the ability to provide strategic oversight for our organisation. We are also looking to recruit people with specific skills and experience in the following areas:
- People/human resources: Thames Reach employs over 400 people, and has over 150 volunteers. Candidates must have a strong understanding of how to recruit, manage, retain, and develop employees and volunteers within an organisation our size.
- Lived experience: We are looking for candidates with lived experience of rough sleeping and/or of using services such as substance misuse or mental health services. Applicants must have an understanding of how lived experience can improve and develop services.
- Finance/accounting: We are seeking candidates with knowledge of financial management within complex, medium-large organisations, particularly those with knowledge of Charity Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) requirements.
- Communications: We are seeking applicants with an understanding of effective communication within an organisation our size, and strong knowledge of the current communications and media landscape.
Appropriate training and support will be provided to all new board members.
Successful applicants will join the Thames Reach Charity Board of Trustees and will sit on one of three board sub-committees – Finance, Audit and Fundraising; Services; Governance and People, all of which meet four times a year. Board members are also asked to participate in an annual away day, usually in the autumn, with separate preparatory visits to our services.
Thames Reach Housing board vacancy
We are seeking an individual with a commitment to ending rough sleeping and with the ability to provide strategic oversight for Thames Reach Housing.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who may be considering becoming a board member for the first time. We will prioritise applicants with an interest in homelessness, and an understanding of how housing associations operate, above existing governance experience.
We are able to provide governance support and training to new board members, and you would be joining a board with considerable governance experience, aligned with a competent Thames Reach Charity senior management team, to support you in your role.
