Celebrating the life of Jeremy Swain

We recently gathered to celebrate Jeremy Swain’s life, achievements and lasting impact on the homelessness sector.

Celebrating the life of Jeremy Swain

Thames Reach and the London Housing Foundation (LHF) were privileged to host a celebration of the life and achievements of Jeremy Swain, the former Chief Executive of Thames Reach and most recently the Chair of the Thames Reach Housing Board. Jeremy died on Monday, 27 May 2024, following a short illness.

His daughter Ellie has written this tribute.

Over 200 colleagues gathered recently at the Olympic Park in east London to share memories and hear contributions from a range of people from Jeremy’s work and family life.

As part of this event, we showed a specially made film about Jeremy.  For those who missed it, or would like to see it again, here it is.  This will be available here until the end of November, at which point it will be passed to Jeremy’s family.

Among those in attendance were Bill Tidnam, Thames Reach Chief Executive, Gareth Bowen, Lead Manager in our Acre Lane Project, and Dennis Rodgers MBE, who used our services, volunteered for Thames Reach, and now works as a Homeless Health Advocate for Groundswell (pictured below).
