The Communications Officer, a member of the Business Development Team, is responsible, alongside the Website and Publications Editor, for planning, developing and implementing the Thames Reach Communications Strategy. You will work closely with the Chief Executive and Senior Management team to ensure Thames Reach achieves excellent coverage for its services and campaigns, assessing and coordinating responses to media requests and actively seeking ways of raising the profile of the organisation’s vital work.

You will also be responsible for planning and developing internal communications ensuring staff remain updated with Thames Reach’s progress and news. Using a hands on approach you will create a range of internal communiqués, building internal relationships, responding to feedback and ensuring all messages are consistent across all mediums.

Experience in public relations, communications or media is essential as are excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills. You will possess the fine art of being tactical and assertive as well as approachable and accommodating. You will be determined to give people benefiting from Thames Reach’s services the chance to speak directly to those with influence and power.
