Thames Reach is driven and committed to helping homeless and vulnerable people to live in decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. Our vision is to end street homelessness and our aim is to achieve the highest standards and effectiveness in service delivery to vulnerable people.
The Human Resources team supports this vision through attracting and recruiting committed, skilled and passionate staff and then by supporting and developing them to work successfully with homeless, vulnerable and isolated people. If you are looking to enter or develop your career in the Human Resources and Learning and Development (L&D) field, and are willing to commit at least 1 day per week for a minimum of 3 months then this may be the opportunity for you. Our working days are Monday to Friday.
Your role will involve the following activities:
-Preparing short listing and interview packs
-Recruitment correspondence including references
-Printing and collating various training packs
-Updating various systems and databases
-Organising paperwork and personnel files
-Taking minutes for meetings
-Managing incoming telephone calls and emails
What we need from you:
-Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
-Good literacy and numeracy skills
-A self-motivated attitude, commitment and willingness to get involved
-Ability to work positively in a team contributing your ideas to develop the team’s work
-Understanding the importance and the ability to work confidentially
-Ability to work autonomously and use your initiative to solve problems

-Supervision and support throughout the role

You will also have an opportunity to gain a greater understanding of Thames Reach through completing a shift or shadowing at one of our projects which includes outreach, hostels and community-based teams.
