Funded by the GLA in partnership with Croydon, Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham SWITCH works with women rough sleeping across these boroughs.
We are recruiting a Lead Outreach Worker to case work these complex and vulnerable clients, all of whom are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You’ll support them to put together a plan to access accommodation and identify and engage with the services they need to work with to maintain their homes.
You’ll also be responsible for raising the profile and awareness of the service within the four boroughs, building links with support agencies and working creatively to find options where these may be limited.
You will need excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to:
Represent Thames Reach to statutory and voluntary organisations, this includes collecting and providing information and attending external meetings.
Promote our services to assist vulnerable females and work with hostels and accommodation providers.
Advise and support other staff working with vulnerable women.
Use CHAIN to record work to enable us to work consistently with clients and demonstrate outcomes to our funders.
Maintain accurate records and produce and present reports.
Recruit and confidently supervise volunteer peer mentors.
Confidence in working with enforcement agencies and working to help people manage their behaviour.
The targets and outcomes expected from this project are:
Referrals received from all four boroughs every quarter.
An appropriate accommodation offer for every women referred.
A significant Improvement in the information recorded on CHAIN for this client group.
A demonstrable reduction in rough sleeping by women in the 4 boroughs.
Increased engagement with support services and a demonstrable reduction in substance use and associated offending.
