This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in an innovative service supporting those at risk of homelessness in Brent. The programme is delivered in partnership with two of the UK’s leading homelessness charities, Thames Reach and Crisis and the UK’s leading investor in Social Impact Bonds, Bridges.
The project is funded on a payment by results model which allows for flexibility in how the service delivers outcomes to prevent homelessness, and find sustainable accommodation. The project also aims to work with a variety of local and community organisations to ensure beneficiaries receive the right kinds of support in a coordinated way.
You will deliver brief individual support, with an emphasis on employment to those at risk of homelessness. You will support clients to prevent their homelessness by negotiating with landlords and maximising benefits, or to support them to find and keep suitable alternative accommodation.
The successful candidate will have:
• Excellent knowledge of housing law, welfare benefits and the community services available in Brent.
• An ability to provide service users with pre-employment support, and develop relationships with employers.
• Experience of providing brief interventions to enable people to maintain accommodation and independence.
• An ability to work to targets in a payment by results service
• A willingness to work collaboratively alongside staff from other organisations.
This post will be employed by Thames Reach but work within a special purpose vehicle with day to day management through the Project Director. The post will be a fixed term contract for 1 year with core hours Monday – Friday 9-5 but with flexibility to work outside these hours as required.
