We are currently recruiting Lead Workers to join our outreach services across London.
The roles available include:
Hackney Navigators – these are new posts to join the Hackney Outreach Team working with entrenched rough sleepers in the borough to support them away from the streets and into accommodation and other services
Haringey Navigators – these are new posts to join the Haringey Outreach Team working with entrenched rough sleepers in the borough to support them away from the streets and into accommodation and other services
London Street Rescue lead workers – we have a number of posts available in London Street Rescue, working with rough sleepers in 7 London boroughs to support them off the street and into accommodation
As a lead worker you will:
-Reduce the total number of people rough sleeping by directly case working individuals with complex needs, quickly identifying the most appropriate route off the streets and devising a plan for achieving this
-Focus on improving local response to rough sleeping by coordinating joint working between agencies
-Identify gaps in provision and create new pathways off of the streets for complex rough sleepers, including those with no recourse to public funds

If you are looking to use your existing knowledge and experience of working with homeless people to move into a role where you will have more influence and responsibility and be able to work to resolve the homelessness of some of the most complex rough sleeping clients in London this may be the opportunity you are looking for.
This post will give you the opportunity to build on your ability to carry out assessments, identify options, devise plans to achieve these and oversee a multi-agency problem solving approach with people who may have a history of challenging services.
With the help of our experienced senior staff and management, you will be supported and trained to use your strong communication and creative problem-solving skills to enable you to create and deliver options for people where these may be hard to find. You will receive regular supervision from experienced staff who will both guide your work and encourage and facilitate your personal development.
To be successful you’ll need to have the interpersonal skills and the commitment, patience and perseverance required to work with a case load of complex rough sleepers and the confidence in public speaking to enable you to represent Thames Reach and speak about our work to our partners. As we work in partnership with enforcement agencies such as the Police and local authority enforcement teams, you’ll be comfortable doing this and will be able to speak to others about the benefits of this joint working approach.
You will have the confidence and knowledge to supervise volunteers and the strong I.T skills needed to be able to collect, collate and interpret information and statistics on rough sleeping and present these in external meetings.
While a large proportion of your time will be spent working day shifts Monday-Friday, you will be flexible and able to work late and early shifts and weekends as required.
