Hours:   Full time 37.5 per week

The Greenhouse provides healthcare, welfare support and housing advice for homeless people and people at risk of homelessness in Hackney.  Staff from Thames Reach, the local authority and the NHS work together under one roof, in a Single Homeless Hub.

This is an opportunity to join the team working to prevent homelessness and end rough sleeping in Hackney. You will have access to an extensive training programme allowing you to develop an expertise in homelessness legislation as well as excellent partnership working skills.

You will use your communication and problem solving skills to accurately assess clients and develop personal housing plans that will successfully prevent or relieve homelessness. You will work with partners and clients to put plans into action and help clients secure suitable housing as quickly as possible.

As a Support Worker at the Greenhouse you will need:

-Have a good understanding of homelessness legislation as well as knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act.

-Be able to quickly build rapport with clients and use motivational interviewing skills

-Have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with a range of services

-Enjoy working in a fast paced environment and be comfortable juggling multiple priorities
