At Thames Reach we are driven and committed to helping homeless and vulnerable people to live in decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. Our vision is to end street homelessness and our aim is to achieve the highest standards and effectiveness in service delivery to vulnerable people.

We are recruiting Night Support Workers for our Winter Night Shelter in Lewisham. This is an exciting opportunity to join a pilot service working towards reducing rough sleeping.

You will work waking night shifts with some day shifts on a 7 day rota, alongside other agencies such as the London Borough of Lewisham, local charities and other Thames Reach teams.

The winter night shelter is being set-up in response to a local need to intensively work with complex rough sleepers in the borough to access and sustain secure accommodation.

Your excellent communication and creative problem solving skills will enable you to create options for people where these may be hard to find. There will be an expectation to work autonomously as well as within a team, to be confident in creating and working through action plans, have strong time management skills and to be strongly outcome focused.

You will use inform to record work to enable us to work consistently with clients and demonstrate our outcomes to funders.

As Support Worker you will have:

-The ability to provide a flexible and responsive service to meet the needs of rough sleepers.

-Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to work with rough sleepers.

-The skills to ensure health and safety requirements are followed and risk is managed to ensure the safety of all parties involved.

-The necessary I.T skills to keep accurate records of your work

-Confidence in working with outside agencies to ensure the best outcome for clients.
