Accommodation and street outreach services are vital to ending rough sleeping. Without suitable accommodation options, people affected by rough sleeping face a harder time moving away from the streets for good. What’s worse, those recently moved off the streets are at a far greater risk of returning there.
To work effectively, our accommodation options operate as part of a wider system, with different offerings best suited to different people at different points, and depending on an individual’s own support needs.
We provide a range of accommodation as part of this wider support system. This includes assessment centres to appraise people’s needs as soon as they are helped off the streets, and to then identify the most suitable next steps. It also includes high support housing, which responds to those in urgent need. And we also provide access to secure, long term housing, where people can fully regain their independence and move away from homelessness for good.
We know that sleeping on the streets is harmful, and that the longer people stay there, the more difficult it can be for them to rebuild their lives. Our street outreach services work across London 365 days a year, supporting people to move off the streets and into secure accommodation where their needs can be met.
