Brent Single Homeless Prevention Service
A new service helping single people living in Brent who are in danger of losing their home.
The Brent Single Homeless Person Service (SHPS) is a partnership between Thames Reach, Crisis and social investor Bridges Fund Management. It works with up to 1,600 Brent residents who are in danger of becoming homeless to help them keep their home, or find new accommodation.
Staff will be able to support people earlier, thereby reducing the risk of homelessness. This is an innovative project as it also supports couples without dependent children.
The service is based in the Brent Civic Centre in Wembley.
The scheme is funded by the Government through its Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) Trailblazers funding and is the first homelessness prevention ‘social impact bond’ to be set up in the UK – a payment-by-results scheme based on achieving successful outcomes for the people using the service.
