Some people who find it particularly hard to find work can sometimes benefit from personalised support to help them on their way.
Jumpstart is a partnership with L&Q, a London-based housing association, and Thames Reach providing personalised employment services for people living in L&Q properties. The service helps residents look at their skills and abilities and develops a plan to support them find sustainable employment
An action plan is personalised to each individual seeking to identify specific areas of development. If residents need help with CV writing or interview skills, they can attend one of many training courses available at the Employment Academy in Southwark but if the person lacks confidence or work experience then there are opportunities for them to work with a mentor or take on a volunteering role.
Support available to users of the Jumpstart service includes access to the full range of Thames Reach employment and skills programmes, as well as various courses outside of the organisation.
