Catherine Bennion

Catherine is a senior civil servant with over a decade of experience in social policy, including street homelessness, with significant experience delivering in complex, high-profile policy and operational environments. Catherine is currently within the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities as deputy director responsible for Levelling Up Strategy. Catherine’s key achievements to date include setting up the Rough Sleeping Initiative to support people off the streets, as well as the ‘Everyone in’ pandemic response.
During her civil service career, Catherine has focused on improving outcomes and life chances for marginalised and vulnerable cohorts, recognising the power that people, community and integration have in supporting an individual’s recovery.
