Thames Reach projects shortlisted for London Homelessness Awards 2024

Thames Reach is thrilled to announce that our projects Pan London Accommodation & Community Engagement (PLACE) and Connect Home Aspire (CHA) have been shortlisted for the prestigious 2024 London Homelessness Awards. This recognition highlights our commitment to providing innovative solutions to homelessness in London.

The London Homelessness Awards, now in their 25th year, celebrate projects that make significant strides in preventing and reducing homelessness across the capital. With a prize fund of £60,000, the awards acknowledge initiatives that demonstrate exceptional impact and dedication.

Fiona Sutherland, Area Director at Thames Reach, expressed her gratitude: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for the 2024 London Homelessness Awards. Our collaboration with Cromwood Housing Group and other partners has enabled us to provide 526 affordable tenancies, supporting 724 individuals away from homelessness.  As with most services we deliver here at Thames Reach, this is a partnership, and I’d like to thank our partners for working closely with us to deliver this innovative model.”

Mark Wajnsztok, Lettings and Tenancy Manager at Cromwood Housing Group, praised the teams involved: “Cromwood is really proud that our partners at the CHA & PLACE teams at Thames Reach have been shortlisted for this award. It is a testament to all the hard work they have put into helping their clients, working collaboratively with Cromwood to provide a much-needed supply of quality homes that are affordable and well-managed.”

The projects, PLACE and CHA, emerged as a response to the urgent need to move individuals out of temporary accommodations into sustainable housing. They have successfully supported hundreds of people in securing long-term homes, fostering independence and enhancing their quality of life.

Simon Dow, Chair of the judging panel for the London Homelessness Awards, commended this year’s shortlist: “Once again we have a terrific shortlist of projects for this year’s award. Here is real evidence of the endless ingenuity and determination of the organisations working with homeless people in London. We are proud to broadcast their successes.”

The final winner and runners-up will be announced at a special event later this year, where the recipient of the prize fund will be revealed. Thames Reach looks forward to the opportunity to further promote our housing-led approach and collaborate with stakeholders to expand our impact citywide.
