Southwark Works

Southwark Works provides bespoke job-related support for Southwark residents at risk of homelessness

Thames Reach’s Southwark Works initiative is part of wider framework set up by the London Borough of Southwark to offer tailored employment support to its residents.

Within this network, Thames Reach manages two specific projects designed to help individuals secure employment and improve their career prospects. These projects aim to address various barriers to employment, providing personalized guidance and resources to support Southwark residents in achieving their professional goals.

Southwark Works – Mental Health

The Mental Health project supports Southwark residents with mental health support needs to find and sustain employment. Through regular coaching sessions they support clients to reach their potential and find employment opportunities that align with their goals and support needs.

Southwark Works – In Work Progression

The ‘In Work Progression’ project supports Southwark residents who are already in work to increase their income by helping them to find better paid work or to move up in their current roles. They can also support clients to access training to support their career progression and offer some level of career guidance to help people to find new employment pathways.

Once on either of the programmes, you will have the opportunity to access the following:

  • CV writing support
  • Job searching and application support
  • Access to training courses, apprenticeships, volunteer positions and internships across diverse industry sectors.
  • Confidence building for interviews
  • Careers advice and guidance
  • Mentoring and Coaching

To access the Thames Reach Southwark Works project, you must:

  • Be aged 18 and over
  • Have right to work in the UK
  • Be a Southwark resident
