Courses aimed at helping people develop their English, Maths and IT skills
Lambeth Adult Education runs a range of basic skills courses aimed at helping people develop their English, Maths and IT skills, in order to gain confidence and acquire skills to improve their job prospects.
The current service is aimed at people engaged with Thames Reach hostel services and Tenancy Sustainment Team (TST). It is open to London Borough of Lambeth residents.
Entry Level 1: Speak English with Confidence – four weeks of classes, three hours per week.
Entry Level 1: Digital skills – four weeks of classes, three hours per week.
Entry Level 2: TraVEL – four weeks of classes, for three hours, twice per week
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Thames Reach is adapting our plans and we are now delivering sessions on tablets using a learning platform. The Thames Reach Employment & Skills team will deliver three fundamental courses through Zoom, with team members readily available to support clients’ with Zoom access. If clients do not have a smart phone or a laptop, they can dial-in (only for Speak English with Confidence and TraVEL).
People using the service who are resident in a Thames Reach hostel or who are receiving support from TST will be provided with tablets on which to work.
