It can be a challenge finding better paying work when you’re already in employment.
Step Up is a service helping people in low-paid jobs learn new skills and find better work with better pay.
The aim of the service is to help people earn at least the London Living Wage and find roles that offer greater job satisfaction.
The service is open to people who’ve been in low paid work for the last 12 months or more, earning on average less than £9.75 per hour, and who are employed for 14 or more hours per week.
Those that register can get help with contacting potential new employers, and can access one-to-one career support and financial advice. Step Up members can also get information on key skills training in subjects such as English, Maths and IT, in order to better their chances of securing a new position.
